Celia Sanchez Manduley School in CubaAnyone needing a healthy fix of TeachMeet - the 'unconference' organised by teachers for teachers - following the last successful outing for creative learning and teaching at BETT 2009 - should head for Rainham, East London, next Tuesday (March 31).

TeachMeet NE London 2 is being hosted at Havering's CEME Campus in Rainham, and features the usual format of fruit-machined 7-minute and nano-presentations, along with 'star' turns from  Drew Buddie, Tom Barrett, Terry Freedman, 2Simple's Max Wainewright, Ollie Bray and the excellent Edith, the Year 9 student who is already a seasoned ICT presenter. It's all free, with a high-tech raffle for funds to rebuild Celia Sanchez Manduley School in Cuba (above) – destroyed by Hurricane Ike in 2008.

For an event that thrives on being 'unorganised' (it's usually done almost entirely via a wiki) this event has had a light steer. It's just as well too as it's not exactly gracious to deny a presenter who has travelled a long distance - like Ollie Bray from the west coast of Scotland - a showing just because their name didn't come up on the 'fruit-machine' randomised line-up.

Freedman, Smith and EvansThis event is being supported by two LAs - Havering, the host (organiser Dave Smith, centre), and Redbridge (Anthony Evans, right) and you can hear both organisers interviewed in a podcast hosted by the person in the master of ceremonies role pioneered by Ewan McIntosh, ICT consultant Terry Freedman (left). (For a full list of organisers check out the wiki.) They have also organised a free shuttle bus from and back to Dagenham east from 5 to 11pm, sponsored by visualiser supplier AverMedia.

In an area that's home to The Visualiser Forum it's not surprising that the top prize in the raffle is a visualiser, along with a wide range of other high-tech goodies. It's the only thing that will cost attendees a penny in what promises to be a highly entertaining and rewarding evening with a wiki guest list (don't forget to register - food and refreshments free) that is already rising over the 50 mark. And if you can't make it to Rainham you can  take part in an online Flashmeeting or follow on Twitter (teachmeetnel2). The presentations will be filmed by Leon Cych for Learn 4 Life.
